The Nisqually River flows for roughly 81 miles (130 km) through west central Washington, emptying into the southern end of the Puget Sound. The river’s delta, captured in this Overview, is both a National Wildlife Refuge and a National Natural Landmark, providing a habitat for more than 300 different species of fish and wildlife.
